Fans of period drama will have the opportunity to once again enjoy some of their favourite characters up close when The Improvisors present Downton AdLib.

Downton AdLib is about love, laughter, passion ... and a wide range of hats!  A side-splitting comedy where the good ol’ chaps waltz with modern dames in this one-off performance created by genius off-the-cuff comedians, The Improvisors.

You’ll laugh till you cry as The Improvisors cleverly interact with the audience to create this unique comedy show loosely based on Downton Abbey, among other period dramas.

“We supply the characters, the audience supplies the key plot ingredients and the result is costume drama as you've never seen it before and will never see again,”

 Director, Tim Gordon

The Improvisors, headed up by well known actor and entertainer Tim Gordon, has just celebrated 25 years of theatrical laughter and fun. It is a group of professional, experienced and frankly hilarious folk who are as funny off stage as they are larking about upon it.

“Improv as good as this is like a quality magic show in that it leaves us wondering how on earth they achieved such theatrical alchemy.”

John Smythe, on Downton AdLib, Circa Theatre, Wellington

Bring your smile, your sense of humour, and an open mind to Downton AdLib and be prepared to be fully and laugh-out-loud entertained.
