The smash hit musical comedy that’s guaranteed to have you dancing the night away!

Head back to the 60’s where Tracy Turnblad, a big girl with big hair and an even bigger heart, is on a mission to follow her dreams, dancing her way onto a TV dance show.

Her audition makes her a local star, and soon she is using her new-found fame to fight for equality… bagging local heartthrob Link Larkin along the way.

Hairspray is an irresistible feel-good show that’s full of action, dancing and teen angst, making it perfect for a school musical.

Hairspray is an American musical based on the 1988 John Waters film Hairspray, and provides a social commentary on the injustices of parts of American society in the 1960s.

The songs include 1960s-style dance music and "downtown" rhythm and blues.

In 1962 Baltimore, Maryland, plump teenager Tracy Turnblad's dream is to dance on The Corny Collins Show, a local TV dance programme. When Tracy wins a role on the show, she becomes a celebrity overnight and meets a colourful array of characters. She then launches a campaign to integrate the show.
